Thankful Tuesdays

Today I am thankful for this little girl, she makes me smile so much that I actually think we are best mates.

I am also thankful for:
  • Spending quality time with Steven this weekend, me and him with a bottle or two of red. Perfect.

  • Getting a 2.1 for my second year at University
  • The count down to Vfestival and Reading Festival
  • The third Hunger Games book - So addicted right now, yes I know I am a little behind with these book crazes.
  • & lastly I am thankful for some me time, I have finished my second year of University and I am only working part-time. So I have decided I am going to enjoy my summer (as much as the weather allows here in the North West). I have been reading, doing little jobs that I have avoided like, painting my toes nails and love the fact that I am spending quality time with the people around me who I love.
What do you have to be thankful for this week?

Thankful Tuesdays

I have so much to be thankful for that sometimes I just get lost in the moment, I never take the time to reflect upon all the amazing things happening in my life. This is why I have decided to write a weekly blog post about all the things I am thankful for that week.

This Tuesday I am especially thankful for:

I am thankful that we have been able to spend quality time together recently. We just have so much fun and never ever run out of things to say. I am especially thankful that she pointed out where I was going wrong with my eyebrows, so the regrowth is happening for some sexy brows!

  • 3 Sleeps until Steven is home
  • The Sun
  • My new hair cut - it can actually be styled again!
  • Steven - Always
  • Helping young people express themselves through music - so rewarding
  • Memories & Old photos

So much to smile about and say thanks for. What are you thankful for today? Leave me a comment I would love to see why everyone else is smiling :)

Generation Preston Guild Banner

Young and old have come together in Bamber Bridge to create a banner to celebrate this year's Preston Guild. Working together, young people from Walton-le-Dale young people's centre and senior members of the community designed and produced the banner which celebrates the guild and what it means locally to them. The banner was unveiled on Thursday evening, June 7, by County Councillor Mark Perks, cabinet member for young people, in front of staff from the young people's service and members of the local community. The banner is a representation of local landmarks and items that are of significant interest to young people. It has been created by designing, cutting out and sewing plaques that have then been brought together to show off the things that the local residents, young and old are proud of in the local area. I have assisted this project for many weeks now and loved every second. I am so proud of what everyone has created and had to share it with you all.

Speaking during the event, County Councillor Perks said:

"While talking to the people involved in this generational guild project, everyone told me how much they got out of working closely together on this superb banner.

Moira Sergeant, one of the members of the South Ribble Pensioners Society, said: "We have learnt a lot about each other, and broken down a lot of barriers, learning that the older generation really care about the opportunities that the young people get."

Mumford & Sons

So yesterday I went to go see one of my favourite bands, Mumford and Sons. All I have to say is WOW, they are better live than on their album. The weather was miserable but it didn't kill our spirits.

Cannot wait for their new album which is going to be released in September.
