Afternoon Tea

Yesterday afternoon, my friend Rowena held Afternoon Tea for her Graduation Party. Unfortunatly I couldn't stay for all of it but was asked to help with decorations and baking. I especially love the plants in mugs, so easy to do, definatly going to introduce this idea to my youth club.

Congratulations Rowena! Hope you had a lovely day.

(This time next year I will be graduating...scary)

Weekend Antics

This weekend has been another hectic one. My Niece Lilly's 2nd Birthday Party & my nephew turned 1. They are no longer babies, this makes me sad. Lilly's party was so fun it was an Ugly Bug Ball theme and she loved dressing up and playing games. She was also spoilt rotten.

The rest of the weekend was spent going for meals and spending as much time with Steven as I could. The Army is turning his life upside down at the moment and its my job to take his mind off of it. I am excited for next Saturday as me and Steven are joining his Sister and Partner for the Monopoly Pub Crawl in London. Even though I live here in the UK and have passed through London many, many times I have never seen it properly. Hopefully by next weekend this will change. I will keep you posted.

How was your weekend? Do you have any exciting plans for the rest of Summer?

Date Nights & 1st Birthday Parties

This weekend has been one hectic one! It did however start Thursday night as Steven was home from work a day earlier (he is going back on guard and thats kinda sucky). So we got ready and went for a gorgeous meal at Duck Egg Blue, a cute restaurant near by. This was later followed by the wine bar and Thursday night was turned into Friday morning...oops.

Something similar happened on Friday night, do you think we need a better hobby?

However, Saturday was My Best Friends daughters 1st Birthday Party. I took along my nephew who enjoyed all the party food way to much! Elsie was gorgeous in her party dress! I won't put all the photos up as i'm sure Amy would like to do a post, but these are some extra cute ones.

Attending my Best Friends daughters 1st Birthday Party made me realise how much we have grown up. I'm sure it was only yesterday we were 16 years old on the same Art Course, wearing far too much eyeliner and talking 'boys'. Time Flies!

Whats the earliest memory of your Best Friend? I would love to hear.

Thankful Tuesdays

Today I am thankful for this little girl, she makes me smile so much that I actually think we are best mates.

I am also thankful for:
  • Spending quality time with Steven this weekend, me and him with a bottle or two of red. Perfect.

  • Getting a 2.1 for my second year at University
  • The count down to Vfestival and Reading Festival
  • The third Hunger Games book - So addicted right now, yes I know I am a little behind with these book crazes.
  • & lastly I am thankful for some me time, I have finished my second year of University and I am only working part-time. So I have decided I am going to enjoy my summer (as much as the weather allows here in the North West). I have been reading, doing little jobs that I have avoided like, painting my toes nails and love the fact that I am spending quality time with the people around me who I love.
What do you have to be thankful for this week?

Thankful Tuesdays

I have so much to be thankful for that sometimes I just get lost in the moment, I never take the time to reflect upon all the amazing things happening in my life. This is why I have decided to write a weekly blog post about all the things I am thankful for that week.

This Tuesday I am especially thankful for:

I am thankful that we have been able to spend quality time together recently. We just have so much fun and never ever run out of things to say. I am especially thankful that she pointed out where I was going wrong with my eyebrows, so the regrowth is happening for some sexy brows!

  • 3 Sleeps until Steven is home
  • The Sun
  • My new hair cut - it can actually be styled again!
  • Steven - Always
  • Helping young people express themselves through music - so rewarding
  • Memories & Old photos

So much to smile about and say thanks for. What are you thankful for today? Leave me a comment I would love to see why everyone else is smiling :)

Generation Preston Guild Banner

Young and old have come together in Bamber Bridge to create a banner to celebrate this year's Preston Guild. Working together, young people from Walton-le-Dale young people's centre and senior members of the community designed and produced the banner which celebrates the guild and what it means locally to them. The banner was unveiled on Thursday evening, June 7, by County Councillor Mark Perks, cabinet member for young people, in front of staff from the young people's service and members of the local community. The banner is a representation of local landmarks and items that are of significant interest to young people. It has been created by designing, cutting out and sewing plaques that have then been brought together to show off the things that the local residents, young and old are proud of in the local area. I have assisted this project for many weeks now and loved every second. I am so proud of what everyone has created and had to share it with you all.

Speaking during the event, County Councillor Perks said:

"While talking to the people involved in this generational guild project, everyone told me how much they got out of working closely together on this superb banner.

Moira Sergeant, one of the members of the South Ribble Pensioners Society, said: "We have learnt a lot about each other, and broken down a lot of barriers, learning that the older generation really care about the opportunities that the young people get."

Mumford & Sons

So yesterday I went to go see one of my favourite bands, Mumford and Sons. All I have to say is WOW, they are better live than on their album. The weather was miserable but it didn't kill our spirits.

Cannot wait for their new album which is going to be released in September.
